Human-Centric Health Lighting and Advanced Display Technologies


Research design and applications in healthful lighting represent crucial emerging topics across engineering and interdisciplinary studies. With continuous technological advancement, its significance to human life becomes increasingly evident. Healthful lighting must not only meet human needs but specifically focus on enhancing visual comfort and improving photobiological health. The human-centric research field of healthful lighting is extensive, potentially evolving from health considerations to the modernization of medical-grade optical device design. This seminar focuses on the discussion of healthful lighting, advanced display technologies, and color science.
With the development of 3D, AR, VR, and MR technologies, evaluating the physiological health impacts of advanced display technologies on users remains a significant challenge for industrial development. This seminar will use computer holography and aerial display as examples to illustrate their potential applications in automotive displays, while applying color science for color measurement and display quality assessment. Furthermore, it will explain how to evaluate users' visual fatigue and comfort from both subjective and objective perspectives. Looking ahead, the development of display and lighting technologies must prioritize human health at its core. Visual health concerns extend beyond merely improving image quality and reducing viewing discomfort, emphasizing comprehensive applications across human factors engineering and physiological-psychological health in an interdisciplinary approach.
