Prof. Viacheslav Ivanov graduated from the Physics Faculty at Novosibirsk State University in 1993. He undertook training at the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, focusing on the laser diagnostics of plasma instability on installations to study thermonuclear synthesis. In 2003, he completed his PhD in optics and laser physics at the Institute of Automation and Electrometry, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. From 2004 to 2015, he led research at Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.'s Research Center in Moscow. His research areas included information and communication technologies, materials science, and display technologies. From 2016 to 2019, he was the R&D Director of a biomedical start-up at the Skolkovo Innovation Centre, Moscow. He continued his academic career at the Higher School of Economics University in Moscow, where he is currently employed as a principal investigator on science and technology foresight and innovation policy projects. Prof. Ivanov is known as an international expert in the field of information display and photonics. He is the Treasurer and Secretary of the Board of SID Russia Branch, a non-profit science and technology cooperation organization, and has been a long-term member of the Board. He has attended international and co-organized a number of SID regional events.
