林燕丹教授长期致力于光环境与视觉人因工程研究,聚焦显示与照明技术在复杂动态场景下的视觉安全、舒适与健康效应。她建立了不舒适眩光数学模型和高动态显示调光模型,提出基于视觉安全的多目标优化算法,并将其应用于飞机客舱、列车驾驶室等交通载具的光环境设计。代表性成果包括为中国中车出口至美国波士顿、以色列特拉维夫等多国地铁及有轨电车提供舱室照明系统,有效保障了长期作业人员的视觉安全与心理健康。她的工作推动了光健康与智能照明在国防、大交通、医疗等领域的产学研结合,曾获世界工程组织联合会“工程领域杰出女性奖”。

Professor Lin Yandan has long been committed to the research of light environment and visual human factors engineering, with a focus on the visual safety, comfort and health effects of display and lighting technologies in complex dynamic scenarios. She has established mathematical models for discomfort glare and dimming models for high dynamic range (HDR) displays, proposed a multi-objective optimization algorithm based on visual safety, and applied it to the light environment design of transportation vehicles such as aircraft cabins and train driver’s cabs.

Her representative achievements include providing cabin lighting systems for metro and tram projects exported by CRRC to Boston (USA), Tel Aviv (Israel) and other countries, which have effectively ensured the visual safety and mental health of long-term on-duty personnel. Her work has promoted the integration of industry, academia and research of light health and intelligent lighting in fields such as national defense, large-scale transportation and medical care, and she was awarded the Outstanding Women in Engineering Award by the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO).
