长期从事基础和应用视觉科学研究，主持国家自然科学基金委项目、科技创新2030—“脑科学与类脑研究”重大项目子课题、国家科技部重点研发计划子课题，参与中央军委科学技术委员会项目等，主持华为、OPPO等企业横向合作多项。全国光辐射安全和激光设备标准化技术委员会非相干光辐射安全分技术委员会委员。在眼科学和视觉科学领域发表SCI论文50余篇，参与起草《儿童青少年近视普查信息化管理专家共识（2019）》等专家共识，参与制定《GB/T 40230.1-2021 视疲劳测试与评价方法 第1部分：眼视光 学》等多项国家标准及团体标准。

He has long been engaged in basic and applied research in vision science. He presides over projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, undertakes sub-projects of the "Brain Science and Brain-inspired Intelligence" Major Project under the Innovation-Driven Development Strategy 2030, as well as sub-projects of key R&D programs of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. He also participates in projects commissioned by the Commission for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense of the Central Military Commission. In addition, he leads a number of industry-university-research cooperation projects with enterprises including Huawei and OPPO.

He serves as a member of the Non-coherent Optical Radiation Safety Sub-technical Committee of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Optical Radiation Safety and Laser Equipment. He has published more than 50 SCI-indexed papers in the fields of ophthalmology and vision science, participated in drafting expert consensus documents such as Expert Consensus on Information Management of Myopia Screening for Children and Adolescents (2019), and contributed to the formulation of multiple national and group standards, including GB/T 40230.1-2021 Test and Evaluation Methods for Visual Fatigue—Part 1: Ophthalmic Optics.
